The Polyaspartic Difference

Polyaspartic concrete coating technology provides unmatched durability and a beautiful granite-like finish for outdoor surfaces. It’s hard, quick-curing, long-lasting and has been used in commercial and industrial applications for decades.

Over the course of our research, we found many reasons to prefer polyaspartic exterior surface coatings over epoxy or other patio paints and porch coatings, including:

The polyaspartic material is very fluid and applied in an almost water-like state, so it finds every crack, crevice and pore of the concrete beneath. This means it doesn’t just adhere to the concrete; it bonds with it, becoming one with your patio, porch or walkway.

The polyaspartic material we use is 100% UV resistant, so it won’t yellow or fade as epoxy coatings do over time. This is extremely important considering the amount of sun your outdoor concrete sees over its lifetime.

It typically takes just 24 hours for Hello Garage’s polyaspartic outdoor surface coating to cure. That means you can use your patio, porch or walkway the very next day.

When an epoxy coating fails in laboratory testing, it peels away from the concrete surface below. But when a polyaspartic coating finally fails in lab testing, it’s the surface layer of the concrete that peels away. So, in fact, the polyaspartic coating itself never really peels — the underlying concrete fails first.

Polyaspartic outdoor coating technology was initially developed as a material for spray-in truck bed liners. Just think of all the abuse something like that must endure! Plus, truck beds are made of steel, which doesn’t have open pores like concrete. So, if polyaspartic can stick to nonporous steel, it can definitely bond with your porous exterior concrete.

Hello Garage exterior surface coatings consist of a 100% polyaspartic active ingredient and a small amount of environmentally friendly solvent that helps it flow. Some companies that claim to use polyaspartic technology actually use a blend. So if you’re getting other bids, make sure you ask and get a straight answer — because if it’s not 100% polyaspartic, it’s not UV-stable — and you definitely don’t want it for your patio or porch or walkway.
