Hello Garage Product FAQs
Whether you want to know how to clean a concrete garage floor, hang bikes in a garage or organize a garage, our FAQ section is the place for you! Click on the drop-down buttons below to find answers to frequently asked questions on a variety of Hello Garage-related subjects.
Are you a franchise?
Yes. That means all our locations are locally owned by independent operators who know the community because it’s where they live. They’re your friends and neighbors. Your kids probably go to school with their kids. But your local Hello Garage is also backed by the national Hello Garage brand, so its products and processes have been tested and proven in garages all across the country. It really is a best-of-both-worlds situation.
How long have you been in business?
Hello Garage was established in 2020. But its parent company, Supportworks, Inc., is a private, family-owned business that has home-service contracting roots that go all the way back to 1975 — so this stuff is literally in our blood.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes! We offer an industry-leading warranty on every polyaspartic garage floor coating we install.
Is polyaspartic floor coating expensive?
Over time, a polyaspartic floor coating is very cost-effective. Are there cheaper ways to coat your floor? Sure, but you’ll probably have to redo them more than once. Our professionally installed polyaspartic flooring is one of the longest-lasting concrete coatings available. That means it’s something you’ll likely only have to do once.
How much does polyaspartic flooring cost?
The cost of installing a polyaspartic floor coating varies depending on the situation. This includes the size of the area to be coated and the condition of the concrete underneath. Over time, though, the cost often ends up being less than those of seemingly cheaper products. The best way to determine the cost is to have your concrete inspected by one of our Garage Gurus so they can give you an exact price. There’s no cost or obligation for the inspection.
What do I have to do to prepare my garage for flooring or storage installation?
Ideally, you should clear everything out of your garage before we arrive. This is probably the least fun part of the project, but it’s also a great opportunity to do some organizing and decluttering. On the bright side, since a professionally installed polyaspartic floor coating is one of the most durable methods of coating interior and exterior concrete, you likely won’t ever have to do it again!
Can I install a DIY garage floor paint or polyaspartic coating?
Unfortunately for DIYers everywhere, 80% of garage floor coating success comes down to surface preparation. We have the specialized tools (we’re talking big grinders and industrial vacuums) and the expertise to get it done right the first time. We ensure your concrete is free of damage, cracks and abrasions that cause other methods to fail. We also test the moisture reading of your concrete slab with a professional tool to ensure the material will adhere properly. So, the answer is likely, “no.”
How long does polyaspartic floor coating take to cure?
Polyaspartic flooring can be walked on after just six hours and driven on after 24 hours — so, even though it takes about seven days to fully cure, you can start enjoying your new floor in just a day!
Do you install epoxy, polyurea or any other floor coatings besides polyaspartic?
No. We’ve done a ton of research, and we’ve found that, by far, a 100% polyaspartic floor coating solution is the best way to go for a combination of superior looks and longevity. For that reason, we leave the epoxy and polyurea to the other guys.
We get asked this a lot, but it’s difficult to answer. First, there there are many coating systems to select from…some vary significantly in price-per-square foot. Second, pricing is affected by the extend of concrete damage, the need for moisture mitigation, and whether an existing coating is present or not. The best way to determine your installation cost is to contact us. We’ll have an estimator evaluate your unique space and provide a true estimate.
Is polyaspartic technology really better than epoxy or polyurea?
In a word, yes. That’s why it’s been the choice of warehouses, factories and other industrial applications for 40 years. Now it’s available for residential applications like garages, basements and patios. Plus, only polyaspartic floor-coating technology offers granite-like looks and durability and can be installed in about a day.
How do I clean my new floor?
One of the many benefits of polyaspartic flooring is that it’s easy to clean. Most things just squeegee right off. For anything that can’t be removed by water alone, we recommend Simple Green® household cleaner. Don’t worry, though — we’ll leave you a guide when we’re done that gives you all the information you’ll need to maintain your floor.
What makes your cabinets and shelving different?
Hello Garage cabinets and shelving are made from heavy-duty welded steel that is powder-coated for superior looks and durability. Plus, it’s mounted directly to your garage’s framing, which means it’s far more secure than the cheaper freestanding units you’d typically see at a big-box DIY store.
Is your storage freestanding or mounted?
For safety and durability, our storage cabinets and shelving are mounted to the wall via welded steel uprights secured to the studs in your garage. This is a big reason why they require professional installation.
How strong is your slatwall?
Our slatwall is seriously strong. In fact, each panel can hold up to 115 lbs. at 4 in. off the wall. That means it’s strong enough to hold long, heavy items like string trimmers or bicycles.
Do you have other products beyond flooring and storage?
Yes! We offer a variety of products that enhance and improve any garage space — including our powerful and convenient InstaVac™ vacuum system, LED lighting, wall panels and more.
Where can I purchase additional accessories and vacuum bags?
